Exactly. The weight of a solid will equal the weight of the gas into which it is turned. That weight of gas will equal a defined volume at STP.
One minor correction. The pint of gas created by the charge in a 9mm bullet at "very high" temperatures, instead of freezing. There is a much higher volume at high termperatures.
