The Cubans kicked butt in Africa, and sent the South Africans packing, but that was back in the 70s, so I didn't know if it was EO or some other mercenary outfit. Of course, that whole campaign was a showcase of Cold War hypocrisy. I worked for an oil company at the time, and our conservative stockholders were very upset that our oil facilities in Angola were being protected by Cuban troops from attacks by Maoist guerrillas supported by South Africa and the CIA. I guess they couldn't figure out who to root for.
