Successful thread move
Probably everyone knew this except me, but it's possible for a lowly non-moderator to move one of their own threads by simply changing the check mark in the Topic box. Comments come right along with them.
For some reason the topic list on the left of the screen stays the same. Maybe it will correct itself eventually.
