Tax money handed out to "consumers" to help the economy is the myth.
Stripping cash from those who provide goods and services and handing it to their customers so they can buy those goods and services? Do the math.
The idea of "consumers" and "producers" as separate classes doesn't stand up very well anyway as an economic concept. Unless we're assuming all consumers are on welfare.
By the way, do the math on the premises of the Center for American Progress numbers. Organizations like that count on the gullibility of their supporters.
