I recommend the Okabashi company, it makes reasonably priced, comfortable, stylish and absolutely indestructible sandles and flip-flop-type footwear in many styles, made in the USA out of recyclable plastic. Look up their website. These items are tough enough that I would recommend outdoorsmen pack a pair into the bush as a backup in case their boots failed, were lost, or got wet. They are rugged enough for the back country, at least in summer.
