The Left and the Democrats hated Reagan with every fiber of their being. Maybe you've forgotten the constant shitstorms Reagan got back then - from the Democratic Party, from the media, from the entertainment culture, from everywhere.

Many of the attacks were almost word-for-word the kind of things now being thrown at Palin and the other "lunatics:" people who have positions on economics, foreign policy, social and other issues that differ not one degree from Reagan's.
