MAD has prevented nuclear war between us and Russia for over 50 years. I guess the assumed insanity of the Middle East trumps the policy of madness. Iran and Israel will include the ROW in their national suicides and there doesn't seem to be any good option in sight.

It's not likely that this is "all about oil". After all, the much sought after short term profits from oil will evaporate when demand plummets.

It's more than a shame that preemptive war can't be effectively 'outlawed'. We've already seen the consequences In Iraq.
