Re: Any place in the Americas is out of question
Of the two dozen countries I've visited...
...New Zealand is my favorite. On the up side, it is beautiful, underpopulated, fertile, wonderful climate, culturally diverse, and full of the nicest people I've ever met. Downside: earthquakes, volcanos, cost of living, and yes, a shameful history of land theft. Energy is a big problem but they are finding new offshore oil deposits and have great geothermal potential. And the twelve hour flight from the States is sort of like time travel, and will mess with your head.
If I were to move to another country, New Zealand would be my first choice. The place is magical.
(EDIT: Them's some crazy formated hyperlinks, VrB. Nice.)
