For reference, that peak in the background is Pikes Peak. The mountain in the center foreground with the rock face is Blodgett Peak, just off the southwest corner of the Air Force Academy. The main campus of the USAFA is clearly visable as the bright metal buildings at the center lower right of the initial view. The treeless area at the centerl lower left is a limestone quarry that is very close to the the over three hundred homes that were lost in the city.

Right now, the several, well coordinated government agencies have done an amazing job at getting this inferno surrounded. They say it is only half contained and will burn for weeks, but people, including my mom, are going home.

(TB...as a geolocation puzzle...where was this video shot from? I've got it narrowed down, easy for me 'cause I know every curve of that skyline, but I was wondering how you'd manage.

And here something that I'd like to see in future live coverage of events like this: please give me the location of the camera! A bearing of the shot would really help, too. I watched a lot of feeds over the last few days, and that sort of info would have helped,)
