Not necessarily. The old Steady State theory required the Universe to be infinitely large as well as infinitely old. The Big Bang universe began a finite number of years ago, but it is not clear whether it is infinitely large or not.
In my opinion, the jury is still out on the basic geography of the universe. All this dark matter and dark energy stuff is way beyond my understanding.
