We don't have all the information we need, so we can have fun speculating.
1) There is always the possibility Reid is just a senile old fool and hasn't a clue what he's talking about. This seems to be what the GOP pundits are all saying.
2) I suggested he's been set up in an elaborate trap to discredit the "Democrat" party by the Romney campaign.
3) You suggested Reid really has the goods on Romney and is really sticking it to him.
4) Tom would rather we just talked about something else. Anything else. This will change immediately if 1), or 2) turns out to be true.
