Space/Science » in reply to The Story That Won't Go Away

You bet I've been hammerin' on it for weeks,

Like you've been hammering on your TParty agitprop since I first came on this website. You've stopped responding to AGW because the evidence is just getting too severe to wave away and you're hoping no one will notice just how wrong you were to try and cover this story up. This isn't something that may have happened hundreds of times thosusands of years ago. This is happening in our lifetimes.

The last six lowest ice years have been the last six years, This year broke the record on 24 August and the ice is STILL receding, in mid-September. The summer ice cover today is less than half what it was 30 years ago. Less than half, in just one generation. That satellite was launched about the time I got married and half the polar ice cap is gone. I may live long enough to see the summer ice disappear altogether.
Do you really think concern about this is unreasonable, alarmist, extreme, exaggerated? Look up the numbers, TB. We lost over 16000 sq km of ice just since YESTERDAY.

I am not going to bother reasoning with you, because I suspect you're enough of a scientist to know exactly what is happening. Just stare at this for a while and tell us its "natural variation", like "probably" happened in the past. That we shouldn't "rush to conclusions". Tell us again how its all a UN Socialist plot designed to destroy the free enterprise system, and a conspiracy of climatologists trying to get funding for their research.

You're absolutely right its not about polar bears. I just know how much you love ridiculing environmentalists' esthetic and sentimental concerns for the environment, this was bait you couldn't resist.

No, this is about corporate greed and corporate shills trying to avoid taxes and regulation, and the inconvenient truth. And that's bait I can't resist.
