I watched a science channel special on Project Manhigh several years ago.
The most interesting thing was the haphazard way they conducted the experiments. As I recall, Kittinger set off on his record setting flight and jump without his portable heater and damn near froze to death. I can't imagine an error like that under today's experimental conditions.
