The man at the start explains clearly and OBVIOUSLY that since there were simultaneous attacks in other nations that WERE related to the video on the same day, it was a reasonable assumption that this incidents was related.

Further, for the umpteenth time, there were CIA agents at the outpost that was attacked. There are obvious reasons why there might be a cover story.
