Your comments are actually what the gop focus should be: That there was an additional security request and for whatever reason it was not granted. Or also, they could be talking about the entire Admin Libyan policy during the revolution there. Instead the gop has obsessed over when and what the word "terror" means. Why? Because they are conspiracy obsessed rather than policy oriented: Obama didn't use the word "terror" correctly because he wanted to "cover up" a terror attack. Nonsense. As we see now there is quite a bit of fog of war here.

It's silly to think Obama personally denied the extra security, but as CiC he took full responsibility. As he should. There are good indications someone at the State Dept screwed up, but honestly, who knows? The CIA were using the post as a staging area. We may never know what was really going on.

Regardless, in the worst case scenario for Obama, this does not hurt him outside the people who already are voting against him. It's not a policy issue it is failed security issue. And Obama's diligence at national security during his term has been stellar.
