So what? Doesn't fly. And there's another consideration.

If it is that important, why aren't Great Britain, France, Russia, Japan, China, India and East Timor aboard? Australia, New Zealand and South Africa?

The US has so completely screwed over the people in the Middle East for so long it's embarrassing. Bringing down the Assad government isn't for us to decide. We already brought down a democratically elected government in Iran, and have an undeclared war going on against them, and why? They want to control their own oil.

And the Pentagon says Syria isn't getting ready to gas anyone. Looks as if Obama is grandstanding.

Assume the Tea Party got their guy elected president and people in the US revolted. Assume that revolution appeared about to succeed. Do you think the Tea Party would not use gas or nuclear weapons if they thought they had to to stay in power? Of course they would. Would that be any of Syria's business? Of course not.
Advocating more involvement in the Middle East is not only a disservice to Americans, it's a disservice to the Middle East.

Just because someone doesn't like you is not an excuse to kill them. Or their wives and children.
