I understand the Romans didn't even have a word for "homosexual",
although that word obviously has Latin roots.
I once had an opportunity to inspect some ancient Egyptian pornography
(in facsimile). They were quite up to date, by modern standards. We would have felt right at home then. Here's a bit from the Land of the Pharaohs, although this is obviously more ritual than pornographic.
