It's hard to clean up what you've inherited. I knew when he was promising all those things that reality would be a different cup o' Joe once he got into office. What surprises me is that the public at large does not understand how complex some of these things can be.

Who knew that no city in the US would want the alleged terrorists from Guantanamo in their location for trial? If you can't get them to a court, you can't try them. Hence, they have to stay where they are and let the military do the dirty deed.

I also knew he wouldn't be able to withdraw troops from Iraq right away as promised. To do so would have been disaster for the troops, not to mention Iraq. We've already screwed the pooch there as far as wasted dollars, failure to rebuild their infrastructure sufficiently and entrenched resistance are concerned. Not the military's fault; it was Bush's administration's fault, their failure to foresee these things. Where were their brains? So intent on revenge that their logical brains took a vacation? No excuse. They were supposed to be governing.

People need to learn to look at possibilities and probabilities and events through a logical lens and not through rose-colored glasses. And to quit expecting miracles. A President is an administrator; he still has Congress, public opinion his advisors to contend with.
