My granddaughter's Daddy lives in Boston and as soon as I heard I texted him to see if he was okay. It would be just like Rob to go to the marathon and watch the festivities. Luckily, he was working. He had not heard the news yet so apparently I found out rather quickly.

I remember waking Rob up with the WTC attacks. He had served 8 years in the Navy and lived all his life right across from the towers in NJ.
I remember him coming over that day and just collapsing in my arms crying.

I have not told my granddaughter about the Boston bombings. I found myself hovering over her more so today. A very strong need to protect her. Okay, I am getting teary eyed as I type this. I have kept all my emotions in check until I took her home to Momma.
