Government power is threatening to the private sector, because it dilutes and checks the power of large commercial organizations. That's what this is really all about. The private sector wants power, just like government does. It doesn't want to share power with the government.
The power of government is held in check by constitutional and political processes, namely, the Law and the Vote. Private power is held in check by the Market, with a capital "M". Both checks have their plus and minuses, and their successes and failures, but there is one fundamental difference.
Government can be changed by the citizens through their vote, if necessary, it can be changed by violent revolution. The Market does not change the nature of private power, it merely regulates the competition between its components. In other words, the citizen is helpless to protect himself from the abuse of private power. At best, all he can do is choose to be abused by some other company.
