In my opinion the law is broad enough to allow great latitude in it's enforcement

Nearly all States have neighborhood watch and many States allow concealed carry. I support concealed carry if the privilege is properly monitored.

I see no reason to believe that Zimmerman wouldn't have been acquitted in a State that does not have the "Stand Your Ground" law. The ability to protect yourself in the face of deadly threat is implied damn near everywhere. It is virtually natural law. Liberals just don't like to see it in print.

There was plenty of latitude to convict Zimmerman of manslaughter within the framework of Florida law, and I would bet a dollar to a doughnut that not a single juror felt compelled to find him innocent because of "stand your ground". We learned from the OJ trial that Juries do not always act logically. Usually they decide on the "reasonable doubt" factor.

I have already said that based on what I have read and seen, Zimmerman should have been convicted of manslaughter. Nothing in the FL law would have made a guilty verdict reversible in this instance.

I suppose that liberals worry that the law will create a mind set among the great unwashed that they can kill at will and fall back on "stand your ground". I don't see the law assisting murderers any more than the twinky defense, temporary insanity defense or the ever popular multiple personality defense.
