Re: Living with a silent heart
I saw the movie "Threshold" years ago, about the controversial first transplant of an artificial heart into a young girl. At the time, it was science fiction. I don't remember much of the movie, but I remember the scene where the machine is inserted in the chest, hooked up, and it quietly begins to purr, filling with blood. As with this real-life patient, the girl would have no pulse.
I don't know if the circulatory system works exactly right if there's no pulse in it. I guess we'll find out.
