And its a good thing I've never met him face to face, or I probably would have punched him out too, even though I've never started a fight in my life and I haven't been in one since I was in the Navy.

Just never tell your friend your differences might be the the result that you're probably just "hard-wired" differently, or that you're different as a result of different experiences or just the way you see and interpret the world around you. He's probably convinced himself he's right and you're wrong because he's just better, or smarter, than you are. And if you tell him otherwise it might just piss him off and he'll have to punch you out.

The existential dilemma goes away the first time you meet someone who agrees with you totally, and he's STILL an asshole. That's when you start to realize that although opinions are certainly not the same as facts, there is still no sure way to tell them apart.
