What I found was a systematic and single-minded effort to promote and disseminate one particular political ideology by questioning and interrupting every conversation and opinion that did not serve that ideology, and by insulting and humiliating anyone who failed to accept it or dared to question it.
I don't need to "tell the conservative side how it is". I just need to let them know I know what they're up to and they're not going to get away with it.
But those who feel the way I do might welcome a voice that reassures them, that tells them "You're not alone, you're right. These people do have a political agenda that they are imposing onto a social venue, they are indeed hijacking the conversation, are selling us snake oil and we're not just making it all up".
When THOSE folks tell me I'm yelling too loud or talking too much, THEN I'll shut up.
Your original post asked the question, why has this conflict and controversy suddenly affected our country?
I told why I thought it had, using my own experience and feelings about it, and the opinions I derived by reflecting on what I know. You posed the question, I gave you an answer, and I explained why I felt the way I did. Isn't that what you wanted?
