yep, none of the 50s and 60s scifi novels hold up perfectly
First of all we are not teenagers anymore and regardless of age they are all a little like a movie from that time period. They are dated and we are a less gullible, and more streetwise society.
As good as Asimov's Foundation series is, reading it now has that same effect. Still damn good, but...
