Or Truman, or JFK or LBJ or even Clinton. They're desperate he be remembered like Carter, because Carter made Ronald Reagan possible.
Although I never understood the gripe they had with Carter.
The man was a Southerner, a born-again Christian, a military officer, a successful businessman, a farmer--in short, the very model of a proper conservative. He should have been right up their alley.
