If the US government gets to the point where it wants to disarm a citizenry it will ask for the guns. Then it will do what everyone else does, when it finds a gun it will shoot the owner, his family and a few neighbors.

They will be turned in fast. No one wants to be shot because their neighbor is screaming "Second Amendment, Second Amendment!!"
