A term which gave me recent pause in my reading . . .
The phenomenal Herbert George Wells, in his amazing "When the Sleeper Wakes" used the word "remoter," rather than the term "more remote." It is a correct usage, granted, but still... ”More remote” appears a few times in the story, which grants a better flow, and then I hit “remoter.” H.G. Wells, author, historian, a man of letters wrote the word "remoter," and had it published.
>sigh<
Merely an interesting sidebar -- for me.
