Ordered it last week, custom designed from Dell with everything except its own plutonium power supply, and should have it by the 24th. It'll be my travel machine and my backup for the Win 7 desktop I use most of the time.

My two XP machines will be quietly retired. One I'm going to get rid of completely, a huge tower with an immense picture-tube display. My old Thinkpad I'll keep, running it off the net for a few applications that don't deal with 64 bit systems.

My wife and kids are running Apple laptops, and I keep them going, too. I'm comfortable around multiple systems, and by the time I get forced into Win 8 or 9 (sometime around 2020 by the latest schedule) they should have it in decent shape.
