I'm opposed to racial profiling, after all, terrorists could pick white guys (or seniors, women, children, or the handicapped) to do their dirty work. What happens is that instead a group of mostly innocent people are singled out and then get picked on, even in no-risk situations. Racists are always looking for excuses, they are the masters of "I told you so".
OTOH, everything, even avoidance of racist profiling, should be done with moderation, and a little common sense...
