There's definitely no moral high ground here. The "good guys" in Galactica routinely champion racism, attempt genocide, practice terrorism (including suicide bombing), torture prisoners, steal elections, assassinate the inconvenient, mutiny, and execute prisoners without trial. And they make the viewer see the justifications (and the rationalizations) for it.
