Not sure where you are going with this. Are you saying that more restraint isn't being exercised by the feds? The timeline disagrees.

1993 Branch Davidian standoff
1996 Montana Freeman standoff
1997 Davis Mountain Texas standoff
2014 Cliven Bundy standoff
2016 Malheur standoff

What I see is excessive force in the earlier standoffs and the exercise of restraint in the later standoffs. This to the point that Cliven felt he won in 2014. Expect to see less restraint now as the pendulum swings back.

Robert, wasn't there a militia guy on the ur-zone. I'm sure it was during the Al/Justin days after the turn of the century. It seems to me that militias were all the rage in the 90's fell out of favor after 9/11 and have been making a resurgance in the 20teens. Or put another way whenever a democrat was in the white house. Correlation does not equal causation, but it is damned hard to deny the correlation.
