Here we go. Even if Trump doesn't win the White House, he's amply demonstrated the value of violence and hatred in American elections. A very wide swath of conservatives, it seems, are untroubled by such tactics--in fact, they seem to support them.
It's certainly not a lesson that the most opportunistic of future political candidates are likely to ignore. I can't see how this unfortunate turn will do anything other than hasten American decline.
