I may never get invited to another liberal kegger for saying this, but I think Hillary's going to need the support of all those who will be holding their nose while voting for her.
I like Bernie, but I just don't see that he's got wide enough national support for a real shot at the White House, so a 3rd party run for him may serve simply to siphon off support that would otherwise go to Hillary...and then BAM Trump's the new prez and Ivanka's his first lady.
