The enema of my enemy
In a way, I feel for Cruz. He's almost universally disliked. That's got to take a toll.
But a quitter he ain't, as witnessed by his opening salvo for the 2020 election cycle. From a liberal standpoint, though, this is a big, heavy double-edged sword. Sure, I loved watching Trump get a finger in the eye, but this also strongly suggests that the *extreme* right will continue to have high-profile representation in the GOP for years to come.
Yay.
