Clubs and guns--a thought experiment for conservatives

For conservatives, it could be instructive to do some research into whether or not Trump allows guns on his properties. His property managers often say guns are fine--hell, the more, the merrier--but staff members usually tell a very different story.

Mar-a-lago is an interesting case. Florida law is somewhat ambiguous and has been interpreted to mean that concealed carry is not restricted in clubs and establishments where the serving of alcohol isn't the primary business. Mar-a-lago, as you know, is primarily a golf course.

But Mar-a-lago staff says you will not be allowed onto the property with a gun in your possession. Why do you suppose that is, considering Trump has spoken often against gun-free zones? Trump claims to love the club's members, saying they're "his people"...so why doesn't he trust them with guns?
