A new incarnation of Star Trek used to be a real treat, something worth looking forward to. But like Star Wars, and Alien, and so many of these other franchises, the thrill seems to be gone.
A ground-breaking new concept opens up a new universe for us, we want to go back again and again. But after a while, the discoverers, explorers and surveyors thoroughly map the new terrain and the settlers, land agents, missionaries and carpetbaggers start moving in.
Its time to move on.
