Digitizing the process
Man is a tool-using animal. There is a joy in the postures and gestures our bodies adopt in producing a product that digital technology has taken away from us. The skill of knowing how to use a scribing tool, how to operate a Leroy set, how to use drafting tools, even how to properly roll or unroll a manuscript, flattening it out without wrinkling it. They're all gone now. Only our typing and mouse skills seem to matter any more.
