I'm not on the Zone all that often myself so it could just be hit and miss.

I had gotten a bit annoyed with Jody over healthcare reform in the early of the Obama Admin years, and she probably thinks I'm a dick. After countless discussions about healthcare alternatives here on Zone (and in the nation at large), I mentioned the benefits of single payer where everyone is covered and it comes out of our taxes. Her reply: "I already pay so much for health insurance I don't want to be taxed on top of it."

Needless to say my head almost exploded. Months and months of debate and she still didn't know that she would not have to pay for private health insurance if we had single payer. I suspect she is not alone in that profound ignorance. Much of the republican party is cut from the same cloth.
