They really believe that their well-earned wealth and power, which they have acquired through their hard work and skill and selfless devotion to duty and civic virtue is being given away to lazy, greedy, worthless parasites who are being mobilized and manipulated by sinister villains driven by a pathological thirst for power and an endless reservoir of envy.

That is how they see the world, and to destroy that world and frustrate those enemies and those they feel are bringing it about is the most noble cause there can be.

They do not see it as an effort to acquire and control the wealth of society, they see it as a righteous crusade to keep it away from those who do not deserve it, like they do.

You're not going to be able to reason with these people. They feel they are entitled to what they have, and they are justified in how they acquired it. They are the makers, everyone else is a taker. With the NAZIs it was all about racial purity. With our fascists it is entrepreneurial virtue.
