"Lakonia" was the name of the country surrounding (and controlled by) the city-state of Sparta in Ancient Greece. (It's why the Spartan warriors had a Lambda painted on their shields). I wonder if that is a coincidence, or if it is a signal of what may be coming. The titles of the other books have classical allusions, too.
