I've watched just that one (spoilers)

I agree with you that it's an excellent work, well written and produced. I liked the slow reveal, starting out like another Star Trek knockoff (think The Orville), then it's a VR game, and then we start to learn about the dark, darker, and darkest motivations of its creator.

Of course, to a strict "hard" science fiction geek, the premise is pure manure. DNA doesn't encode personality except in the vaguest way, and it certainly can't be used to clone a consciousness, complete with up-to-date memories. As sci-fi hand-waving goes it was weak, but after suspending disbelief, it powered a really engaging story.
