The fact we could be so much better than we are doesn't even register... as long as he can look down on someone, he can avoid the effort required to set his sights higher.
Of course he would be outraged if the leader of one of those blue countries called us a shithole country, even as he is outraged that his right to call the red countries 'shitholes' is being questioned.
