The Right knows that they depend on the support of some they may not agree with, perhaps that they even despise. But in the struggle they sense is coming, they cannot afford to alienate any potential allies.
They rationalize it as political expediency, "breaking eggs to make an omelet", "the ends justify the means".
That is the original sin of the American Conservative movement. We've already seen how they will get into bed with the Beast itself as long as they get their tax cuts and their welfare and regulatory reforms. Afterwards they look in the mirror and smugly congratulate themselves on not being racists and self-righteously bristle with indignation when they are called fascists.
Racists and fascists are reprehensible, but they very well may be sincere. But to sleep with them while knowing all that, simply to enlist them as political allies to further an economic agenda, is unforgivable.
