You make some very good points, particularly on colonialism and the British class system.
I don't concede that either colonialism or any of the other flaws of Britain at the time are prerequisites for the freedom to live our own lives without all-pervasive state control.
Excellent article, by the way. I'd never read it before, and there's nothing in it that dampens my view of Orwell although he seems a bit snobby here for a socialist :)
I did have to look up some colloquialisms. I might steal "box wallah" sometime.
You don't actually understand my views, so really have no business calling them "twisted."
