Oh yeah, he did some bad things.
He was, after all, a neofascist. But at least the evil he did was because he thought it was best for the country according to his principles. This distinguishes him from modern Conservatives who not only insult our principles, but who also routinely violate their own.
Remember, the Conservative program now is not to oppose Liberals because their policies might fail. They oppose Liberals because they fear their policies might succeed. This is a level of cynicism that we have never encountered in American politics before.
