Let it Bleed

The GOP, the Conservatives, see themselves as the party of entrepreneurial capitalism.

They're not. Real businessmen create a genuine product or service, something people want and are willing to pay money for. Real businessmen create this product or service, and they market it, often against stiff competition from other real businessmen.

Trump and his gang, and all those like him, are hustlers, swindlers, middlemen. They produce nothing of value, they are parasitic on those who do, and they are predators on the community that depends on their product, or has been conned into thinking they are.

The Republican party is no longer the "Party of Business". Its not about real market capitalism any more. Its about hucksters and con men and gangsters. And they have nothing but contempt for real entrepreneurs, who put their cash and their ass on the line. This is the laugh track of the free market, the canned applause, the lip-synch, the click bait, the air guitar.

What do Trump and his ilk make, or sell? They are promoters, "developers", carnival barkers, they don't build buildings, they subcontract the real work out to others who are lucky if they get paid at all for their labor.

Think about what Trump actually makes. Designer Neckties? High-end mail order beefsteak? Wine-of-the-week subscriptions? For-profit colleges and phony degrees? Casinos, resorts, golf courses and gilt bathroom fixtures? Beauty pageants and reality TV? Him and his caste are a high-level Ponzi scheme, selling each other pizza and doing each other's laundry. The Robber Barons may have been vicious bastards, but at least they left us great companies, mills, great cities, railroads, whole new technologies and industries. What has Trump left us? Can you think of one tangible thing of value he or his tribe has left the nation?

We are witnessing the final, inbred and syphilitic form of Capitalism, the ultimate gangrenous and decadent form, stripped of whatever energy or creativity or innovation it ever once possessed. This is what the Conservative movement (the political expression of Capitalist economics) has finally come to.

You wanted a businessman President? Well you got one, Jack. Take a long good look at him. Just think of the song he likes to open his rallies with, the Stones' "You can't always get what you want".

But we've noticed that about Conservatives before, haven't we? They seem incapable of perceiving irony.
