It's quite simple, really... the satire above genuinely sums it up...
In the runup to the 2016 election the sane humans here pointed out that Trump was actively racist, obviously ignorant, and unqualified in both experience and temperament.

We provided countless examples demonstrating this with numerous references. We explained that a Trump presidency would be disastrous on every level. Though, to be fair, even some our most pessimistic estimates were, in retrospect, woefully underestimating the true scale of the disaster that is now the Trump presidency.

The conservatives covered their eyes and ears and screamed 'Nuh-unh!' . They were as surprised as most were when Trump won.

The conservative posters stuck around a bit to gloat over the 'victory', but very quickly learned that it would be impossible to defend the actions of the man they sold their souls to.

Then the reality of their position began to sink in...

They were used to being fed a party line they could regurgitate ad nauseam to explain away the latest outrage... the problem was, with Trump, the carefully crafted party line would be undercut by Trump himself... usually in less than a day.

They had nothing to fall back on... they no longer could claim to actually believe the principles they used to espouse... they threw away that pretense when they supported Trump...

So rather than defend the indefensible, or even worse- admit their hypocrisy... they ran away into the wilds of the internet...

It is rumored that on dark quiet nights, you can hear them meme-ing and moaning forlornly in long neglected comment sections of right wing blogs... but I do not believe in such tales and ghost stories... for I know the sad truth.

The truth is much more humiliating...

One day, youngster, I will tell you what became of the old ones, the ones that celebrated the coming of the Orange Beast... one day, when your ears are ready for such tales...
