Whaddaya expect? He's a lawyer.
His job is to punish the innocent and free the guilty. He believes that the only people who deserve justice are those who can afford it.
And remember, the vast majority of politicians start out as either lawyers or businessmen. In either case, we are entrusting our freedom and our livelihood to people who have an agenda. They may not necessarily be evil people, they may even be wonderful people, but they are by definition mercenaries, samurai, paid agents for those in power.
