Forty-nine years old and he was only a Lieutenant?
By that age he should have been ready to retire at least as a Commander or even a Captain. In fact, he should have been asked to resign long ago, for failure to advance in rank.
Then again, maybe he was just pissed off because he hadn't been paid during the last government shutdown.
